Image - the things you look at have become something that influences our lives daily. This has even extended to the cars we drive. For many, driving and having a cool car believe that they themselves have been deemed “cool”. These fancy cars which have caught the eye of people around the world include the sport coupes and the classis Porches.

Many times, manufacturers will change or alter the popular cars each year to suit the generations better. Most times, these changes are featured at annual car exhibitions and fairs. An example of these changes included, the Monaco car maker Venturi producing an electric coupe. This car is called the Fétish and it is due to appear on the market very soon. Sounds wickedly good, doesn’t it!

This cool new car is to be sold at the interesting price of $660,000 per car. Sounds a little steep? Don’t worry, I’m sure there will be a low down payment. There will also be a limited amount of these cool cars sold to the public so if you’re interested you better jump on the opportunity right away. Another new car which should attract car lovers everywhere is the Koenigsegg CCR. This Swedish made car holds the Guinness World Record for speed and everyone knows that that’s got to be pretty fast.

Cars which have exceeded expectations of the public to such a ridiculous level usually top the speeds of 245 mph with a price tag that will send you running out of the dealership about equally as fast! Selling at $722,534 the Koenigsegg CCR has a 1,001 horsepower engine. Now this is a car to be driven by the speed demon in your family though the fuel bill may dismay them, so be sure to send out the fair warning before purchasing.

Still not satisfied? If you are still looking for your perfect car; seek the addition of the Lotus Elise. This sports car is one that many speed lovers will love to own. The lotus is known to be a roadster and has a huge need for speed. While there are many other cool cars of this genre the Lotus Elsie has a superior advantage. The advantage lies in the extremely lightweight construction. The body of the car is made from hand finished fiber glass and also, this body shell is found on top of the aluminum extrusion and bonded frame. It’s very impressive to the car lovers among us.

For those of in the US, tonight premieres “Car of the Future” on PBS at 8pm. It’s a look at the innovative technologies that could one day transform the way we drive. Apparently it’s a “screwball automotive odyssey that doubles as a serious environmental wake-up call. From Detroit to California, Boston to Iceland, Tom and Ray mix their trademark slapstick with serious nuts-and-bolts analysis of what it will take to make our autos more energy-efficient.”

A distinguished group of engineers doubles as Tom and Ray’s straight men, including Lee Lynd of Mascoma Corporation, who is working to bioengineer microbes that can produce ethanol from plant wastes, and Amory Lovins of the Rocky Mountain Institute, who is developing an ultralight, full-size “green” car that is efficient and almost indestructible.

For more info, check out the NOVA website, again it’s on tonight, Tuesday, April 22 at 8 pm ET/PT on most PBS stations. Check your local listings.
